FAQ

Do I need to sand before using Fusion Mineral Paint?

Usually, no heavy sanding is required. Fusion adheres extremely well to most surfaces. A light scuff-sand is only needed for glossy, slippery, or heavily finished pieces.

Do I need a primer?

Most projects do not need primer. Use a primer only on tricky surfaces like laminate, metal, or when you’re blocking stains/tannin bleed or going from very dark to very light.

Does Fusion Mineral Paint need a topcoat?

Fusion cures to a matte, washable finish with a built-in topcoat, so an extra finish is often not required. Add Tough Coat or Stain & Finishing Oil for extra durability or a different sheen on tabletops, cabinets, or high-traffic pieces.

Is Fusion Mineral Paint good for beginners?

Yes. Fusion is known for being beginner-friendly. It self-levels nicely, has great coverage, and doesn’t require complicated prep, so first-time painters can get professional-looking results.

How long does Fusion take to dry and cure?

Dry to the touch in about 1–2 hours, ready for a second coat in 4 hours. Like all high-quality paints, Fusion takes about 21 days to fully cure. You can use your piece gently while it cures.

Is Fusion safe to use indoors?

Fusion Mineral Paint is zero VOC, non-toxic, and virtually odorless, making it ideal for indoor furniture and décor projects.
